Lesson: Today the students shared their Narrative Showcase slides. For a more detailed description of this project, see last week's post. The students read through each others' slides and wrote each other compliments. Click on the links below to view the presentations for each class. Homework: Get caught up on ALL missing work in all of your classes. Warm Up: Get your computer and log into Google Classroom.
Lesson: Tuesday through Friday this week, the students will be working on a project. Over the past three weeks, the students wrote three short stories. This week, they will work on project to showcase and "publish" their hard work. The project is called their Narrative Showcase. Each class has a shared Google Slides presentation, and each student has their own slide on this presentation. On their slide, they will do the following things:

Lesson: Today the students started their final narrative showcase. They chose one of their previous stories or wrote a new story. In this narrative, the students focused on correctly using dialogue. They will finish this paper tomorrow. Homework: None Warm Up: Use the rules for writing dialogue to correct each line of dialogue.
Lesson: Today we reviewed the rules for writing dialogue. Then I read some sample narrative stories that effectively used dialogue. The students practiced correcting incorrect uses of dialogue. Several sentences were posted around the room, and the students used the rules to correct each sentence. Homework: None Warm Up: Use the rules for writing dialogue to correct each line of dialogue.
Lesson: Today the students practiced following the rules of using dialogue in a story. We completed a page in their narrative packet to practice punctuating and capitalizing dialogue. We corrected this page as a class. Homework: None Warm Up: Handwriting Practice: Write the quote of the week. Practice using your neatest handwriting.
