Lesson: We learned about another figurative language type - idioms. An idiom is a phrase that means something else than what it says. For example, "It's raining cats and dogs outside." The students wrote the definition and examples of idioms in their figurative language packet. The students shared their own examples and we read through "The 50 Most Commonly Used Idioms and Their Meanings." Then they picked their favorite idiom, which we will use in an activity tomorrow.
