Lesson: Today the students practiced turning similes into metaphors and metaphors into similes. In pairs, the students sorted sentences into similes and metaphors. Then they made a t-chart on a lined sheet of paper. One side said "Simile" and the other said "Metaphor." They picked half of the sentences and wrote the sentence in the correct column. Then they took all similes and transformed them into metaphors and then turned all metaphors into similes.
