Lesson: The students were given a bag of simile and metaphor cards. They had to sort the cards into similes and metaphors. Then the students made a t-chart in their figurative language booklets. One side was similes and the other was metaphors. They picked half the cards from their bags and wrote them in the correct column. Then they had to transform the simile or metaphor into the other type. For example:
- Simile: Life is like a box of chocolates.
- Metaphor: Life is a box of chocolates.
