Lesson: Today we learned about object pronouns. The students have learned about three types of pronouns.
1. Subject Pronouns - Replace the subject noun
- The boy ran across the yard.
- He ran across the yard.
2. Possessive Pronouns - Show possession
- The cell phone belongs to Anna. It is hers.
- The dog belongs to Troy and I. It is ours.
3. Object Pronouns - Replace the direct object
- The teacher dropped the pencil.
- The teacher dropped it.
We reviewed the first two types of pronouns and then learned about object pronouns. We went through several sentences and identified the direct objects. Then we replaced the direct objects with object pronouns. The students practiced this skill on a worksheet. To download the worksheet, click here.
