Lesson: Today the students learned about subjects and predicates. The complete subject of a sentence is who or what the sentence is about. The predicate is what the subject is doing. I taught the students how to divide sentences into their subjects and predicates. We practiced this on page 84 in their workbooks. To see examples, view the image below. We played a game where the students each had a subject or predicate. They had to hunt down the person in the classroom who had their matching subject or predicate. Then we worked on pages 86-89 in their workbooks.
