Lesson: Today the students learned about concrete and abstract nouns. First, the students wrote the following definitions in their flip-books:
- A concrete noun is a noun that can be observed with our senses. We can see, touch, taste, hear, and smell it.
- An abstract noun is a noun that cannot be observed with the sense. It is an idea or an emotion.
Then the students made a t-chart in their composition notebooks. Slips of paper with abstract and concrete nouns were taped around the classroom. The students had to find each noun and sort it in their t-chart.
