Lesson: Today was an exciting day! Two students received letters. One student wrote to Z 102.9 and they responded to her letter on the radio! I played a recording of this for the students. This was a truly unique experience! Another student wrote to the Iowa Hawkeye wrestling team. The coach wrote back a personal letter and included several samples of writing. Three of the samples were recruitment letters, and one of the recruitment letters was for a former Linn Mar student. It is so cool getting to see their hard work pay off each time we get a letter.
After I shared these letters, the students learned about plural noun rules. I used a PowerPoint to explain each new rule. In a chart in their packet, they had to identify and make plural several nouns that fit each rule. Today we got through rules 1-3. Click here for a copy of the PowerPoint.
