- The enormous dog played fetch in the park.
- Cassie played at the park yesterday.
- My pet bird sat sleepily in his cage.
- The majestic eagle soared through the air.
Lesson: Today we reviewed the difference between adjectives and adverbs.
- An adjective is a word that describes a noun. For example, "The black cat ran."
- An adverb is a word that describes a verb, adjective, or adverb. For example, "The black cat ran quickly."
Then the students were separated into small groups. In their groups, the students played adverb charades. They were given the verb walk. They drew adverbs from an envelope and had to act out the verb according to the adverb. For example, the walked quickly, confidently, clumsily, and walked in many other ways. Their groups had to guess their adverbs. Then we practiced writing sentences with adjectives and adverbs in them.
