Homework: Finish page 20.
Lesson: Today the students learned about subjects and predicates. The complete subject of a sentence is who or what the sentence is about. The predicate is what the subject is doing. I taught the students how to divide sentences into their subjects and predicates. We practiced this on page 19 of their packets. Check out the image below to see some examples. We played a game where the students each had a subject or predicate. They had to hunt down the person in the classroom who had their matching subject or predicate. Then we worked on pages 20.
