Lesson: Today the students learned about singular and plural nouns. A singular noun is just one noun (dog, marker, teacher, goose) whereas a plural noun is more than one noun (dogs, markers, teachers, geese). The students practiced identifying plural and singular nouns on page 4 of their parts of speech packets.
Then the students responded to a quick write. Up until now, their quick writes have been question and answer response. Today we did our first picture writing prompt. The students had to respond to the picture prompt below. We set the stage by playing spooky music and turned down the lights. We had a lot of fun being creative! Then the students shared their quick writes. We went through their quick writes and highlighted the nouns.
