Lesson: This week the students will be working on a Canada project. They will use what they know about Canada today to make a mind-map. Scroll down to see the images below. The students will use Canada: The People and Canada: The Culture to create their mind-maps. The students followed these steps to create their mind-maps: 1. Draw a center circle or shape in the middle of your mind-map. Title the center circle Canada Today. 2. Pick five of the following categories to display on your mind-map:
3. Write your five categories in the rubric.
4. Make five branches off your center circle. Add a new circle or shape for each of the categories you chose. Write the category in the shape or circle. 5. Off each category, write key facts, details, and pictures to describe each category. 6. Your mind-map should be a combination of words AND pictures. 7. Your mind-map should be colorful, organized, and easy to follow. Homework: Mind-maps due Friday end of class Warm Up: Today the students watched CNN 10. They summarized one story on their warm up.
Lesson: Today the students learned about what Canada is like today. They read about Canada's government, economy, and cultural regions. They students answered questions on an interactive note-taker.
