The students will be working in small groups to research a topic about Canada's culture. I assigned the groups and topics. The different cultural topics are food, school, holidays, sports, and entertainment and money. Each group will be suing books, the internet, and other primary and secondary resources to research their topic. Each student has a blue sheet where they will be recording their facts. On this sheet, they write down the direct quote from each resources and then rephrase it in their own words. As they are researching, the will also be citing their sources. With the information they find, they will be putting it all together in a children book format. They are learning how to write children's book in reading, so this is practice and extension from what they already know. Their "children's book" will be made on the computer via Google presentation. When the students are finished, they will present their final product to the class. Please view the following resources to get more information about this project.
