During 7th Mod, we had a work room for students with missing work and a RBIS celebration for students with no missing work.
Today we took a field trip to Indian Creek and the students read their children's book to the elementary school students.
Today we had a Mexican fiesta! The students are currently learning about Mexico's history and culture, so we celebrated our learning with a fiesta. I made chips and queso and Mexican hot chocolate cookies for the students. We watched a documentary on Mexico City's street food vendors as we ate our snacks. Then we played some traditional Mexican fiesta games. We had a lot of fun!

Lesson: Today we added more ideas to our notes on the Aztecs. I presented several pictures and facts on a PowerPoint about the Aztecs. The students added new facts their notetaker. The students also jotted down notes about major events in the rise and fall of the Aztec citilization. In the last 15 minutes of class, the students got to use Google Expedition virtual reality goggles to look at the Mayan and Aztec ruins. They also labeled two important cities for each civilization on the map. Then they marked when each civilization existed on a timeline. They did this on yesterday's worksheet.
