Lesson: We started class by taking a virtual tour of Central America and a cloud forest. Click here and here for the videos we watched. The students jotted down all the landscapes they saw. Then the students used section 3.1 in the textbook to complete a worksheet about the geography and climate in Central America and the Caribbean. For a copy of the worksheet, click here. Lesson: Today the students took an assessment about Mexico. Once they finished, the labeled and colored a map of Central America. Homework: None Warm Up: Many Mexicans work in _______________, or factories that are owned by the United States or other foreign countries.
Lesson: Today we reviewed for the Mexico Today Assessment by playing a review game called Plickers. I created review questions about Mexico's culture today and polled the class for their answers. Each student received a card (a "paper clicker") that allowed them to select a multiple-choice answer, and I used my phone to scan their cards. Lesson: Today the students learned about two of Mexico's cultural regions: Northern Mexico and Southern Mexico. Mexico is divided into four regions based on regional differences, such as population, resources, and climate. The students took notes about these two regions.
